To purchase National Prize Bonds in Pakistan, individuals can visit any State Bank or Banking Services Corporation branch with their original National Identity Card (NIC), a copy of the NIC, and bank account details including IBAN. Winners can claim their prize money by presenting the original NIC, a copy, and their bank account details at any SBP BSC office. After completing and submitting a form, the prize money is transferred to the winner’s bank account either on the same day or within 10 to 15 working days for first and second prize winners.
The government of Pakistan imposes a fixed tax on prize money, deducted at the source and transferred to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) upon claiming the prize. Filers enjoy a lower tax rate of 15%, while non-filers are taxed at 30%. Consequently, the net amounts after tax deductions for the first prize are Rs. 637,500 for filers and Rs. 525,000 for non-filers. The second prize amounts to Rs. 212,500 for filers and Rs. 175,000 for non-filers, while the third prize amounts to Rs. 1,062 for filers and Rs. 875 for non-filers.
