The 97th Draw of Rs. 200/- denomination National Prize Bonds was held on March 15, 2024 (Friday) at 9:00 A.M at State Bank of Pakistan, SBP BSC (Bank) Muzaffarabad. The Mr. Waqar Farooq Abbasi Advocate, General Secretary Central Bar, Muzaffarabad presided over the draw event. It was a single common draw, encompassing 165 series of Rs. 200/- denomination National Prize Bonds currently in circulation, namely series “A” to “FW” sold up to January 14, 2024.
Total Number of Prizes:
- 165 Prizes of Rs. 750,000/- each (1st Prize in each series)
- 825 Prizes of Rs. 250,000/- each (5 Prizes in each series)
- 395,010 Prizes of Rs. 1,250/- each (2394 Prizes in each series)
- Total Prizes: 396,000 (2400 Prizes in each series)

How to Purchase and Claim Prize Money:
To buy National Prize Bonds in Pakistan, individuals can visit any State Bank, Banking services corporations (Bank), presenting their original National Identity Card and a copy of the NIC, along with bank account details including IBAN.
In the case of winning prize money, winners can claim it by visiting any SBP BSC offices, bringing their original NIC and copy, along with bank account details including IBAN. A form needs to be filled out and submitted to the concerned department. The prize money will be transferred to the winner’s bank account on the same day of submission, or within 10 to 15 working days for first or second prize winners.
Taxation Details:
The government of Pakistan imposes a fixed tax on prize money, deducted at the source and transferred to FBR upon claiming the prize money. Filer status affects the tax rate, with filers subject to a lower tax rate compared to non-filers. The tax rates for Rs. 200 prize bonds are 15% for filers and 30% for non-filers.
Prize Amount after Tax Deduction:
- 1st Prize: Rs. 750,000 (Filer: Rs. 637,500, Non-filer: Rs. 525,000)
- 2nd Prize: Rs. 250,000 (Filer: Rs. 212,500, Non-filer: Rs. 175,000)
- 3rd Prize: Rs. 1,250 (Filer: Rs. 1,062, Non-filer: Rs. 875)
Note: The face value of the prize bond of Rs. 200 is added to the amount of prize money for both filers and non-filers.
The next draw scheduled for 2023 includes the National Prize Bond of Rs. 750 denominations in April 2024, and the Premium Prize Bonds of Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 25,000 denominations in June 2024.
